Kurt Plinke Watercolor Workshops
Eastern Shore artist Kurt Plinke has been working on paintings between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic for more than thirty years. Delicate transparent watercolors and egg tempera paintings are his hallmarks, often illustrating the intertwined relationships between man and nature. He was accepted into Plein Air Easton in 2019 and has participated in other
plein air painting events as well.
He will be coming to KIFA to teach 3 workshops for
Teens (13 & up) to Adults - Beginner to Advanced levels

Maureen has instructed in Stevensville for 18 years and guides beginners and advanced level students for painting in oil, acrylic or other medium with one-on-one instruction for techniques as students selct their own subject matter.

Upcoming Classes, Workshop & Programs
Can’t get away to a warm place this winter? Come to KIFA and learn how to apply layers of watercolor paint to create a scene right out of the islands. The first two classes will include step-by-step instruction and the last two will be more independent. Some experience with watercolor is helpful. Reggae music, coconut scented candles and maybe even a Pina Colada will be included!
Students bring their own supplies.
Material list: Materials list: Good quality cold press watercolor paper, either one 22”x30” sheet or a small block. At least 3 brushes of varying sizes, Tube watercolors: yellow ochre, a medium yellow such as cadmium, alizarin crimson, cobalt blue and burnt sienna. Daniel Smith brand Ultramarine Turquoise or pay Stacey $1 and use some of hers. Rags, water container and a drawing board.
Most of these supplies are available at My Little Studio in Stevensville. Mention this KIFA class and receive 10% discount.

KIFA, or Kent Island Federation of Arts, was founded in 1963 as a small non-profit community organization, built on making the arts accessible to Kent Island and the surrounding environs.
